June is the sixth month of today's calendar. In 1972, the United Nations Environmental Conference was held in Stockholm, Sweden to protect the natural environment. In this conference, environmental issues such as cleanliness were discussed. In response to environmental pollution, member countries sought common solutions. At the United Nations Environmental Conference, it was decided that June 5 would be World Environment Day. Every year in the United Nations member countries, 5 June is considered as World Environment Day. 

According to the 1951 Convention on the Status of Refugees, the es refugee Stat is a person who bears a legitimate fear that he will be persecuted because of his race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or his political opinions, and therefore leaves his home and does not return or wish to return due to his fear. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has decided to celebrate the World Refugee Day on June 20 every year to announce the problems of refugees to the world. It was first celebrated in 2001 with the participation of UNHCR's ambassador of goodwill Angelina Jolie. On 16-22 June, it organizes a refugee week for people who have lost their homes and land due to war, conflict and pressure

The United Nations General Assembly took a decision in 1987 to emphasize its determination to achieve the goal of a clean society without drugs and to strengthen its action and cooperation in the international area. In accordance with this decision, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted June 26 as the International Day for the Prevention of Drugs. 

Sonora Smart Dodd, the daughter of an American Civil War veteran, believed that fathers, like Mother's Day, should have one day. His father's birthday, June 5, which began to work to be declared as Father's Day, but this work could not reach that date celebrations were postponed to the third Sunday of June. Father's Day was celebrated for the first time on June 19, 1910 in Washington, DC. In 1924, the President of the United States, Calvin Coolidge, supported the celebrations; but officially did not declare Father's Day. In 1966, Lyndon Johnson, president of that period, issued a statement announcing that the third Sunday of June will be celebrated as Father's Day. In 1972, with the signature of President Richard Nixon, Father's Day was legally announced as a public holiday in the United States.
